United Kingdom, Ireland, and Italia
Luke Jacobs and I have been having quite the adventure across the pond! We started our tour in Italy which included 3 shows on the magical island of Sicily. I've never seen so many shades of blue...the Mediterranean Sea is nothing short of spectacular. Today we begin the Northern portion of our tour in Glasgow, Scotland. From here we head south and will be performing throughout England, Wales, and Ireland for the next 2 weeks. Fall is in full swing here...the leaves are brightly colored and the pubs look cozy and inviting. We are so excited to be back in the UK, and look forward to seeing some familiar faces in the days to come!

Carrie is heading to the NORTHEAST in just a couple of weeks time with her touring partner, Luke Jacobs. After spending the summer at home in Austin working on new songs, a new recording, and catching up on some much needed r&r, the duo is now ready to get back in the van and head to a city near you!!! The tour starts Oct. 2nd in the DC area at The Birchmere, and will include tour stops in NYC, Philly, Northampton, and more...
It has been an exciting couple of weeks around here in Austin, TX. I have switched musical gears from performer to producer and am currently working on a debut album for my exceedingly talented touring partner, Luke Jacobs. We recorded the basic tracks this past week at Ohm Recording Facility here in Austin with drummer, Brannen Temple and bassist, Kyle Kegerreis - both of whom are not only dear friends, but DAZZLING musicians. Now we've got some harmony vocals and fiddle to add by yours truly, as well as a few finishing touches by some special guests to be named a little later... Album to be released in early 2015!
A big thank you to Sarah Wilson for the impromptu photo session in between takes:
About three months ago a package arrived in the mail containing a beat up old 35mm camera. It was the type of device that youngsters under the age of 25 have only seen (ironically enough) in photographs, or perhaps found abandoned and residing on a shelf at a Goodwill. The task was simple: Capture your perception of Texas on a roll of film and send the whole lot back to the folks at the Twelve Project...
So I did. Hayes Carll did the same along with ten other musicians. It was fun y'all, and now twelve of those warm and fuzzy film prints (one per artist) will temporarily hang on the Grand Opera House lobby wall in Galveston. The prints will be auctioned off in an effort benefiting Galveston area, arts-loving youth. Cool!
