Love & Circumstance!!!

The new album, Love & Circumstance is in stores now (via her new label, Ninth Street Opus). Love & Circumstance was produced by Lee Townsend (Bill Frisell, Loudon Wainwright III, etc) and is a great collection of songs wriiten by the likes of John Hiatt/Ry Cooder/Nick Lowe/Jim Keltner (aka Little Village), Buddy & Julie Miller, David Rodriguez (her Dad), M. Ward, Lucinda Williams; Richard Thompson, Sandrine, Gillian Welch & Dave Rawlings; Bonnie Owens & Merle Haggard, Townes van Zandt, Hank Williams, & Sosa Tomas Mendez (a song her Great Aunt, Ava Garza sang). It was recorded with her world-class touring band: Hans Holzen (guitars), Kyle Kegerreis (bass), and Eric Platz (drums). Special guests joining in on the recording include Bill Frisell, Buddy Miller, Greg Leisz, and Aoife O'Donovan. The first single/video is "Big Love".

The Love & Circumstance Tour is officially underway with shows this month in Salt Lake City, UT (opening for John Prine); Eagle, ID (opening for John Prine); Minneapolis,MN (w/Ben Kyle of Romantica); Denver, CO, and Larimie, WY before it crosses the Atlantic for The Take Root Festival, club shows in the UK, a Theater tour in Holland & a radio show in Germany!

Live & Circumstance - A Carrie Rodriguez Radio Special hosted by Alejandro Escovedo is being prepared for release to radio in late August/early September. In addition to the conversation/interview, it will feature live performances from her record release show in NYC at Joe's Pub in April and from her performance in May at The Pabst Theater in Milwaukee. As of this writing over 131 stations in the US have committed to airing it!

A beautiful video was shot for "Big Love" in June that will be released wide later this month. There's also a cool live in-studio video for "Steal Your Love" recorded at WFUV that will be up online this month too!

On September 27th, Love & Circumstance is released in Holland via Ninth Street Opus/Munich. Just in time for her tour of small theaters there!

On September 28th, Los Lonely Boys release their new album, Acoustic Live: Keep On Giving that was recorded during The Acoustic Brotherhood Tour in February. Carrie & Alejandro Escovedo are very special guests on two songs, "Heaven" and "Beast Of Burden".

On October 12th, Chip Taylor & Carrie Rodriguez are proud to release a "best of" compilation entitled, The New Bye & Bye that features 4 new songs. They will perform a few select very special shows in New York, Turner Falls, MA; Austin, TX; and Houston, TX in support (see TOURING).

On October 18th, Love & Circumstance will be released in the UK via Ninth Street Opus/Proper. The September Tour will be used to set the release up and we'll record as much radio in advance as we can while there. We'll return to play more dtaes in Ireland, Scotland, & The UK when we tour in Europe in The Spring.

In October & November, Carrie brings The Love & Circumstance Tour to OH, PA, WV, NY, VA, MA, TX, and NC. Plus three special shows will be added late in the month with John Prine. Followed by Sept US shows in CO & WY.

On October 31st Carrie records Mountain Stage (NPR) that will air nationally in late November/early December!

The week of December 4th, AUSTIN CITY LIMITS (PBS) re-airs Carrie's segment internationally!

We're still working out the details on Love & Circumstance's release in other European territories & Australia. Stay tuned.

THANK YOU to all involved behind the success of "an Acoustic Cafe evening" Tour (Jan 20-Feb 6 w/Ben Sollee & Erin McKeown). This was an experiment that WORKED and will repeat in February 2011. Erin McKeown & Sara Watson will join Carrie this time! More details to come!

Carrie will take a break from her front woman duties March 15-30, 2011 when she joins Bill Frisell's band for a tour of Europe. A chance to play with Bill like this was something she didn't wanna not do. More details to come.

Love & Circumstance reached #26 on the AAA non-com radio chart, #2 on the Folk chart, #3 on the Americana chart in the US. It also received "specialty" play on over 180 other stations. We're thrilled by this acceptance & support by the folks at radio. THANK YOU!

Live in Louisville was released worldwide (digitally) on November 24th! Recorded while Carrie was opening for Lucinda Williams in April 2007. CD's are available exclusively via this site, at her shows, via Waterloo Records in Austin; and via Ear X-tacy in Louisville, KY!
